THE PHONE IN THAILAND (AND INTERNET) WHEN YOU ARE IN VACATION...

Many are asking the question and rightly so.
There are different solutions and it is necessary to distinction between telephone and Internet.

For the phone:
If you want to have a local number to be able to call at very low prices taxis, hotels, friends etc... The best thing is to buy a SIM card on site.
It's very simple there are everywhere including in the 7/Eleven.
A number will be given to you and the tour is played (by giving his passport to photocopy it and fill a small slip but nothing complicated).
Either you replace your SIM card with the new one but you will not receive any more calls on your Tel France, either you have a phone with 2 sim cards and there no problem or you buy a phone on the spot (for 10-15 euros you have the phone , SIM card and a little credit... convenient and cheap).

For Internet:
Most of you having an iphone or Android phone you can connect anywhere, the WiFi is really present in all places and free.
But watch out! Turn off the "data abroad" function in cellular network or put the laptop in airplane mode and then activate the WiFi (but be careful you will not be able to receive calls or messages).

Hoping to have helped you a little bit...
