OUR FRIENDS MOSQUITOES....

The question of mosquitoes comes back very regularly everywhere, that's why I wanted to make this little focus.
The mosquito is present everywhere in Asia and of course in Thailand.
There are several varieties of mosquitoes, we will not go into details but it is true that the bites occur more at dusk and at night than during the day.

Unpleasant because it gratte... mosquito bite can train 4 pathologies more or less serious:
1) Malaria: For this one no danger because there are no malarious areas in Thailand (contrary to what is sometimes read), with the exception of certain isolated border areas but where no one or virtually no one is going.
So you don't have to get your quinine drunk before you come, it's no use.
Namely, only 4% of malaria cases reported in Euope are of Asian origin.
2) Dengue fever.
Actually we can catch dengue fever and it is a pathology that can if it is a hemorrhagic form cause serious troubles but again even if the cases are not negligible we should not make it a psychosis, many foreigners have been living in Thailand for years and have never had a problem.
3) Japanese encephalitis: it is a serious pathology and since there has recently been a vaccine, do not hesitate to get vaccinated before coming, precautionary principle.
4) Infection: A mosquito bite, especially if it is copiously scraped, can train a plaice that can become infected.
In this case it is necessary to consult a doctor and take the appropriate treatment.

As always... the best is prevention, so what to do:
-Vaccination against Japanese encephalitis as we said.
-The Mosquito net if you are more in the countryside with an "open" house (no danger in air-conditioned hotels if you keep the windows closed).
-Repellents: We find on sale very good and very effective in 7/11, do not hesitate to put a little spray every morning and every night, it works very well.
-If you go out in the evening, prefer long trousers and cover your shoulders.

Another tip concerns the diet, what few people can be know...
Indeed, this charming animal has its culinary preferences...
The products that attract it:
-The Western diet: potatoes, pasta, bread, salt overdoses...
Products that repulses:
-Garlic, banana, grape, strawberry, orange, lemon, onions, basil, rosemary, Carbonated waters (which contain quinine)...
Thais know the virtues of banana and its anti-mosquito activity....

Since you are in Thailand, eat local, mosquitoes will flee you et....ne not panic, even if this creature is probably the one that, in proportion to its weight is the most annoying, it should not spoil your holiday....

Hoping to have helped you a little bit...
Teeda...
