AKHA VILLAGE, A TRIBE NEAR MAE SALONG...
Mae Salong is known but not that much because it is located in a remote area of the north where the infrastructure does not allow to host hordes of tourists as in some parts of Thailand.
The city, or rather the big village of Mae Salong has little interest.
On the other hand, in the vicinity there are many ethnic villages and especially Akha who really deserve to stop and linger with not a tourist eye but a bit of an eye of explorer who seeks to understand, to admire and to soak in a Local and ethnic culture.
Here we are far from the standards of our modern civilization. We live in the rhythm of the seasons and cultures according to ancestral traditions passed down from generations to generations with respect.
The culture of coffee, the one that replaced the opium culture at the time of the famous Golden Triangle is now perfectly mastered and brings to these populations enough to live and support themselves.
Even if we are here far from traditional Thai culture but rather in a tribal culture with oral transmission, one remains amazed by the kindness of these tribes, their desire to communicate (even if it is not always simple, their simplicity of life In a deep respect for tradition.
Certainly the lag with our European civilization is an abyss but to think about it a little more in depth we find that there are 50 or 60 years we were at the same point but that over time, from the so-called modernism, we let our values pass , our morality and the pillars of our civilization with the spectre of the unknown for tomorrow and the fear of the future.
I hope they won't make the same mistake, but can we be sure?
To see and to follow but in any case to love....
