DEFENDING ELEPHANTS BY PLAYING WITH THEM...

Elephants in Thailand....

I know that through this post there will be a lot of reactions, cries of anger and multiple comments but it is necessary to address this topic because it deserves it in different titles.

In Thailand as elsewhere, no more and no less, we encounter shows of trained animals and especially elephants.
In Europe too we meet the same thing with the killer whale shows on the French Riviera, not to mention horse racing where the horse runs but without really understanding why cravaché throughout the course and without forgetting the bullfights where there the bull is put to Death at the end of the course.

In Thailand you will see a lot of elephant shows or elephant rides. Personally I banish both because in both cases the animal is mistreated.

Concerning the shows, the learning is done hard and over many years, the animal suffers and an elephant is not born to do shows, it is an intelligent animal, sweet and really endearing and not a circus beast.
As for the walks, it is necessary to know that the elephant, despite its imposing stature, its weight and its strength, has a weak and fragile spine.
Putting on his back a pod with 2 people (+ the mahout on the neck) is a real pain for him.

This being said you should know that in Thailand you can wish to enjoy this wonderful animal without having to guilt you to make him suffer.
There are many camps, especially around Chiang mai, where elephants are well treated, where they are not mounted and where they are simply there to live a peaceful life without working or doing unnatural activities.
In these camps you will be introduced to the animal, its way of life, to behave, its tastes, its reactions etc... You will really learn what an elephant is.
You will take care of him for a whole day, you will feed him, you will take a walk in the jungle with him and you will have with him a mud bath to end with a bath in the river... the elephant adores and you will also love, it is an experience Unforgettable.

These camps exist and fortunately, we know a lot and can make you discover them...
We are, and I personally, very attached to the defense of these wonderful animals (not the defense in ivoire...la defense to preserve them and make them live a peaceful life without suffering)... I'm joking, I think you will have understood...

Despite the trade that this represents I hope that we will be followed by others so that in future the Asian elephant is shown as a pet, of pleasure and not a slave to the service of tourism...

Just watch the video of the camps where we take our visitors and you will see an image of happiness, we strongly encourage you to look at it:
