VISIT KOH CHANG & KOH KOOD ISLANDS...

Visit KOH CHANG

Located in the northeast of the golf of Thailand, with its 429 km², the second largest island of Thailand although it has only a little more than 5000 inhabitants.
Not far from Cambodia it is attached to the province of Trat.
It is easy to reach by ferry from the mainland and there are many ferries every day, the crossing lasts only 45mn.
If you arrive by plane to Trat airport, you can easily find minibuses taking you directly to Koh Chang (ferry price included) to your hotel.
Koh Chang has a very mountainous terrain and you will find a lush jungle, many hiking trails to enjoy great waterfalls.
The sandy beaches are very pleasant, without a mass tourism you can enjoy snorkeling or diving, the waters are famous for the shelter of beautiful species of fish.
For this you will have to take a boat (there are many and you will have no trouble finding) to go to the small islets surrounding.
The hotels are concentrated on the West coast, the east coast being almost deserted because the beaches are much smaller.
Koh Chang enjoys a very strict environmental protection.
Because of this and also by its geography, the island is much less crowded than Koh Samui or the islands to Phuket or Krabi.
The hotels are quite few and overall, apart from a few, quite rudimentary with basic standards.
The best way to move is to rent a scooter, it's very easy, all the hotels have themselves or nearby.
You just have to ask for a pretty powerful scooter, especially if you are two of build a little expanded otherwise you will never climb the ribs and the passenger will have to do half of the climbs on foot...

Visit KOH KOOD

Next to Koh Chang, the island has a surface area of 162 km² for a population of just over 2000 inhabitants.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the island was a refuge for many Cambodians (and Thais) fleeing the French invasion of the Indochinese peninsula.
It is also important to know that the island was banned for a long time because it was claimed by Cambodia nearby who believed that it was part of its territory.
Its late opening to tourism also explains partly its tranquility.
The island is very well preserved from tourism because it does not have important hotel facilities or communication channels that can absorb a mass of tourists.
There is in fact a main road which then divides into paths allowing you to visit the island in peace.
At the level activities there are few on Koh Kood but you can snorkel and snorkel around the surrounding islets and also kayak in the mongrove which will leave you very good memories.
You will be sure to visit the small fishing port north of the island, Ao Salaad.
You can rent scooters to visit the island, this is by far the best way because there is no transportation (all Hotels rent).
Also note that there are no shops or ticket distributors so take the necessary before going.
Reassuring Point: There's a small hospital!
You can go to Koh Kood either directly from the mainland with a ferry or from Koh Chang, fast boats take you there every day.
