WAT PHRA LAT NEAR CHIANG MAI... TIS UNKNOWN AND YET SO BEAUTIFUL...
The Temple of Wat Phra Lat is certainly the least visited in Chiang Mai (or rather its surroundings) and yet it is for me the most beautiful...
Located on the mountain road which leads to the Doi Suthep (the most visited of the region), hidden in the greenery it is not visible as well from the road as in most guides.
I would not say it is a pity because at the bottom, as long as it is not known it remains a haven of tranquility and peace.
This small temple is very old, you can access it by a small road from the main road and then find a small parking at the entrance.
Dedicated to the meditation of a few monks you will be able to discover how they live in small bamboo huts before you start your visit.
You will go from buildings to buildings (there are not many), contemplate an old Chedi or a fountain-well a little collapsed before you find yourself with the waterfalls.
From there you will have, besides the noise of the waterfall and cicadas, the pleasure, walking a little to the promontory, to contemplate the view over Chiang mai below.
You can if you wish to discuss with the monks who take care of many dogs and cats and discover with them some notions of meditation or culture of Buddhism.
You can also, apart from the admiration of the site, sit here and there and dream yourselves, listen to nature, look at the wonders of this ancestral architecture or simply admire, think and remake the world in your inner thinking, here no one will disturb you because the tourists are very few.
There are not many places in Thailand like this and it deserves to stop before going to Doi Suthep where there... Mass tourism is really present...
